Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one in our house with a brain. Don't hear me wrong. I'm not saying that there are any stupid people in my house at all. On the contrary, there are amazing people who live here! You should hear how easily they pick up lines from movies and tv shows! They remember every time we parents mention a coming reward or the day allowance will come or a party is happening. Brains are tricky things though. It's interesting to note what things the brain hangs on to and what things it doesn't.My question is: Why am I the only person in this house who knows where to find stuff???? Like where, for example, the scissors are. Now this seems to you like something unblogworthily. (YES, IT iS a word. hush. I'm ranting.) Yet for a Mom, it's some kind of enigma how many times we are called upon as the google of the family, when they really could just think for themselves for places to search. We MOMS should make as much as the google guys do every time someone asks a question and a list of options show up on the screen of our Mom-brains, as we list out all of the places that those of us who do have brains might check in order to find the answers. WHY? Why am I the ONLY one who knows where to look?
Where are the scissors? seems to be an age old question as I found this article written in the NY Times in 1881. How funny.....how much the world changes and yet how very much it stays the same. (And how weird is it that I found an article from 1881 just by googling this question? What a world we live in.)
Another question: Is the word SCISSORS singular or plural?? One pair of scissors should be two, right? But one scissor wouldn't actually cut anything without the other? It's the same with pants. What's the deal?
Ok. I'm done. But don't think I just wasted my time and yours either, Mr/Miss Judgemental. Next time you lose something at your house, you'll think twice before you ask the MOM, won't you now?! Moms everywhere are nodding in grateful agreement, I just know it.
