Homemade Gourmet -New Mix!

This time of year I use the crock-pot daily.  I have 2 just so I can use 1 while the other is washing.  Love it!

Homemade Gourmet came out with a new mix we tried today and loved!  It's Simply Stroganoff!  Yum!  The mix comes with it's own bag that you can stick right in the crock-pot, so you don't make a mess and have to wash it at all!  Yesterday, I just mixed the seasoning packet with water, poured it over 1.5lb of beef tips in the bag, put it in the fridge and just stuck the whole thing in the crock-pot this morning.

I made rice instead of the traditional pasta, and poured the bag over a bed of rice in a large stoneware dish.  It made a warm, wonderful meal for our family!

Last Month for HG

I've put off writing this post because it's sad. I've really enjoyed my business with HG but it's just not doable at this point. I'm more involved with CYT and of course homeschooling and I'm having trouble finding the time I need to put into it in order for it to be a success. I have loved having the seasonings and mixes and will continue to use them and post recipes. I will also join HG Preferred, which will send a monthly bundle of mixes or refills for my Pantry Staples.

So....if you want to order one last time from me, please do... and you will get special delivery from me until May.

Monday: Slow-Cooker Grandmother's Chicken with Mom's Smashed Potatoes

Tuesday: Southwest Chili (recipe below)

Saturday: Creamy Beef Stew with mushrooms and diced potatoes

Southwest Chili:

1 1/2 lb. Ground Turkey (or beef) seasoned with HG Southwest Seasoning

1 can black beans, drained

1 can southwest corn

1 can rotel

This can be made in crock-pot or stove top and put in tortillas as tacos or quesadillas with LOTS of cheese. I like it over HG Texas Cornbread. So that's how I shall have it! Amen.

I shall also now proclaim that the warm comfort food recipes shall go into hibernation for the winter after this week and as with the SUN, new fresh grilled recipes shall come forth into the Spring with much rejoicing! *Hallelujah Chorus*

Lovin' the Homemade Gourmet Opportunity

I LOVE these shakers!!! They've now replaced the old salt & pepper shakers! Brad loves them too! He thinks he's Emeril when he cooks his 2% of our meals! ;) And how appropriately his initials spell...BAM!!!

I was never a sales type girl. Girl scout cookies, school fundraisers, etc, never really did well for me. I never thought I'd be doing this, seriously.

The thing is....I LOVE these mixes. I love the way my family blesses me after every meal prepared quickly and easily because of these handy mixes and seasonings. I love that they think I'm a "gourmet" for a fancy restaurant.... "Le Cafe Martin"! ;) I love that we spend time around our table, as well as saving money and although I love eating out...this makes eating in FUN! I love having these in my pantry, so it's easy to "sell" a product I already love. It takes nothing but sharing what I love about it. IT'S EASY!!! I decided at the time to just try it, just give it a year and see what happens. I can honestly say that God used this to bless us just in the NICK of TIME when there was nothing left in the bank.
