First Sunday of 2013

I love my church.
I'm thankful to be feeling better after 10 days of Christmas vacation flu.
I'm ready for Grace to be over whatever has been "bugging" her poor tummy.
I'm thankful for a loving husband that serves me even when I don't deserve it.
I'm blessed to know God loves me and will never leave me or forsake me.
I'm sad that there are some friendships in this life that don't last through everything.
I'm awful at keeping in touch.
I love my daughter's giggles.
I am proud of my son.
I can't believe he will be 15 this month.
I am not old enough to have a 15yo.
I am changing the subject.
I love my Hebron. (Friends)
I can't wait to get back to bsf.
I want to love like Jesus loves.
I wish people knew how much God loves them.
I am ready for summer.
I need cute new luggage for my next SPARK trip!
I'm turning 40 this May.
I just now almost threw up in my mouth.
I am thankful to be closer than ever to eternity with my Savior.
2013 will be another adventure walking with God.
Happy New Year!

Facebook Status Rejects (Rant)

  • is chillaxin'.....is not a status worthy of my time. Please have the courtesy to be interesting.
  • knows what day it is, Mr./Mrs. obvious person.
  • is annoyed by updates that are directly talking to certain persons of which are not ME!
  • doesn't speak "beat around the bush", so just come out with it already!
  • did not join facebook to save the whales or feed the children. Yes, those things are important in life, just don't think fb is the time or place, so sorry to be coldhearted but I have to do this: ignore.
  • plays games too, but doesn't post her score every SINGLE time! Bragger.
  • shares your depression at times but give it a rest once in a while, Mrs. Pouty Pouterson.
  • is working.... is not a status worthy of my time, nor is it true, now is it?!
  • thinks you might be lying just a tad when you are "swimming with the dolphins" and facebooking at the same time. hmmmm
  • is really sorry your dad died but is freaked out by your profile pic of his [open] coffin.
  • thinks that bragging about your party last weekend and posting drunk people pics doesn't make you look as cool as you think it does. (*whispering* especially because you're 36.)
  • doesn't feel like reading a NOVEL when she comes to facebook. Get a blog!
  • would really appreciate grammar & punctuation being used correctly, so she doesn't feel the strong inherent urge to comment on your incorrectness!!!!
  • thinks speaking in the 3rd person is fun and it's fine when she does it, but YOU can't!

Another Rant

In the 4 years that I lived in Plano (Dallas), I never got pulled over....ever.  In Beaumont for 3 years and got pulled over once.  Since I've lived in small town Kansas, in the past 2 years I've been pulled over 3 times.  *As I write this, I am reminded to keep the anger down to a low boil.*  The first time, it was legit.  I was speeding but not a whole lot.  In Dallas it's called "keeping up with the flow of traffic".  Here it's just called speeding.  Fine. (no pun intended.)  Then I got pulled over for having a headlight out.  It was a Sunday and I'd found it on Saturday night.  I politely told the man that I went to church instead of getting it fixed.  No ticket.  Then yesterday, I got pulled over again.  This time my brake light was out.  Whaaat???  He was rude about it too.  How am I supposed to know my brake light is out?  How could I possibly know that?  He let me off, too.  I'm just thinking this....do these guys seriously have NOTHING else to DO???

But that's not the real kicker.

Brad came home from work one day, and parked in front of our house.  The next morning he had a ticket for parking in the wrong direction.  A $90.00 FINE!!!!  Can you believe that crap?!  I'm so ticked at this stupid small town.  I can't even tell you how much I want to go into that city hall and kick some tail.  It makes me angry because there is only one explanation....

They have NOTHING else to do.

Food 4 Kids

Quick rant here:  THIS makes me angry.  The fact that this organization needed to come about makes me very angry.  Why am I angry?  Because while I completely support sending backpacks of food home, my question is --why isn't someone going to these homes and saying....."WHY IS THIS CHILD NOT BEING FED?"  This makes no sense to me.  Are you telling me that their parents are skin & bones because every last morsel they have, they are giving to their children?  Are you telling me that they've done everything in their power to provide for that child, and they're still coming up short?  THAT better be the case if you ask me, because before my children went hungry, I'd give them everything I had to eat for myself and cut out everything in my budget that is preventing me from feeding my own children.  What the heck?  Don't get it.  That's all I have to say about this.  Make no mistake, though, this rant is not the end.  Passion fuels me.
